Lisbon’s Expansion in Hospitality: Three New Hotels Approved
The Lisbon City Council has greenlit three new hotel projects, signaling continued growth in the city’s hospitality sector. These projects include:
Former Convent of Nossa Senhora da Graça: This historic site in São Vicente will be transformed into a hotel with 131 accommodation units, including double rooms and suites. The development, part of the “REVIVE, Rehabilitation, Heritage and Tourism” initiative, will feature extensive facilities, including a large parking area and a spa.
Campo dos Mártires da Pátria and Rua de Santo António dos Capuchos: In Arroios, a new hotel will be developed in a historically significant building, ensuring the preservation of its cultural and architectural heritage. This project includes five floors above ground and two below, with facilities designed for both guests and staff.
Rua Joaquim Bonifácio and Rua Gomes Freire: Also in Arroios, a modern hotel will replace two existing buildings. This project will offer 92 rooms and include private and bicycle parking, technical areas, and guest amenities like a gym.
These developments highlight Lisbon’s ongoing appeal as a prime location for tourism investment, combining the preservation of historical sites with modern hospitality infrastructure. For investors, these projects reflect the city’s potential for growth and the opportunities in the evolving tourism market.
